Physics Explanation

This simulation demonstrates the motion of two balls under gravity:

  • A red ball is dropped from rest from the top of a 20m building
  • A blue ball is thrown upward from the ground with initial speed u
  • Both balls accelerate downward at rate g (gravity)

The position equations are:

Dropped ball: s₁ = ½gt²

Thrown ball: s₂ = ut - ½gt²

Collision occurs when s₁ + s₂ = 20m
